Official Tour de France Route 2011

It would appears that the Société du Tour de France have finally published the detailed routes of all the stages of this year’s Tour. You can find all the details on their website at http://www.letour.fr/2011/TDF/COURSE/us/le_parcours.html.

Having had a quick look at the published routes, I’m quite pleased with how accurate my original estimations were. Once I’ve corrected any discrepancies, the stage routes will then be available for download, in the following formats, from The Route page on this blog:

  • .gpx – Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrum trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 605 and 705, but will not have any custom cues.
  • .tcx – Useful to import into Garmin Training Centre for archiving or to further transfer to Garmin GPS unit before riding the route.
  • .kml – Will open in Google Earth, if installed.
